Com o progresso da globalização e o processo de convergência da contabilidade às normas internacionais, alguns procedimentos contábeis receberam atenção especial por parte das organizações normatizadoras. Cada vez mais empresas ampliam e levam suas unidades operacionais a outros países, interagindo com diferentes moedas. Os pronunciamentos 52 e 02 emitidos pelo FASB e pelo CPC, respectivamente, mostram como converter demonstrações contábeis para outras moedas. Dessa maneira, este trabalho mostrou como ocorrem tais conversões, quais os métodos utilizados bem como seus objetivos e suas características, procurando demonstrar com exemplos práticos as diferentes situações. Chegou-se à conclusão de que a correta conversão das demonstrações contábeis é de extrema importância às entidades e aos diversos usuários da informação contábil, principalmente no atual cenário econômico onde a expansão dos negócios é uma realidade.

SrBi2(Ta0.5Nb0.48W0.02)(2)O-9 powders (SBTN-W) were prepared by the polymeric precursor method. The influence of annealing temperature on the phase formation and specific surface area was evaluated. TG/DTA associated with X-ray diffraction (XRD) analyses showed the formation of perovskite phase at around 500-600 degrees C. An orthorhombic structure with A21am space group was identified by Rietveld refinement. BET analysis revealed that the specific surface area reduces with increasing thermal annealing. SEM micrographies showed grains in an almost-spherical morphology with the presence of agglomerates. (C) 2006 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.

AgSIE was used for the direct analysis of folic acid (FA), with a detection limit and lower level of quantitation of 6.8 x10-10 mol L-1 and 2.3 x 10 8 mol L-1. The analysis in fresh and processed fruits was done without any sample pretreatment. In strawberry and acerola juices, FA concentration level values were below the method detection limit. FA was detectable in peach (77.7 0.4 mg L-1 and 64.4 0.5 mgL-1), Persian lime (45.4 0.7 mg L-1), pineapple Hawaii (66.2 0.4 mgL-1), pear pineapple (35.3 0.6 mgL-1), cashew (54.4 0.5 mgL-1) , passion fruit (73.2 0.3 mgL-1), and apple (84.4 0.5 mg L-1 ).

We discuss challenges to a dark matter annihilation interpretation of the excess positron fraction in the cosmic rays observed by the PAMELA, Fermi-LAT and AMS-02 collaborations. The spectra of positrons from annihilations into the leptonic two-body final states like $\tau^+ \tau^-$ or $\mu^+ \mu^-$, fit well the AMS-02 data for the positron ratio and the electron flux. Furthermore, we discuss the hadronic annihilation channels $b \bar{b}$ and $W^+ W^-$. However, this interpretation requires a very large annihilation cross section especially for the hadronic channels, conflicting with the unitarity upper limit, unless the positron flux due to annihilations is boosted by a large factor due to inhomogeneities in the galactic halo. In addition, we present predictions within this interpretation for the positron fraction at higher energies for the antiproton flux, and discuss constraints from $\gamma$-ray measurements.; Comment: 17 pages, 16 eps figures, 2 Tables

Electrical and magnetic properties of four series of manganates LnxCa1-xMnO3 (Ln=La, Nd, Gd and Y) have been studied in the electron doped regime (x=0.02-0.25) in order to investigate the various inter-dependent phenomena such as ferromagnetism, phase separation and charge ordering. The general behavior of all the four series of manganates is similar, with some of the properties showing dependence on the average radius of the A-site cations, and cation size disorder. Thus, all the compositions show increase in magnetization at 100-120 K (TM) for x, probably due to the increased phase separation induced by site disorder. This is also reflected in the larger width of the hysteresis loops at T. In this regime, the electrical resistivity decreases with increasing x, but remains low and nearly constant T>TM. The percolative nature of the conduction mechanism at Txmax, the materials become antiferromagnetic and charge-ordered at a temperature TCA, accompanied by a marked increase in resistivity. Charged jet production cross sections in p-Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{\rm NN}} = 5.02$ TeV measured with the ALICE detector at the LHC are presented. Using the anti-$k_{\rm T}$ algorithm, jets have been reconstructed in the central rapidity region from charged particles with resolution parameters $R = 0.2$ and $R = 0.4$. The reconstructed jets have been corrected for detector effects and the underlying event background. To calculate the nuclear modification factor, $R_{\rm pPb}$, of charged jets in p-Pb collisions, a pp reference was constructed by scaling previously measured charged jet spectra at $\sqrt{s} = 7$ TeV. In the transverse momentum range $20 \le p_{\rm T,ch\ jet} \le 120$ GeV/$c$, $R_{\rm pPb}$ is found to be consistent with unity, indicating the absence of strong nuclear matter effects on jet production. Major modifications to the radial jet structure are probed via the ratio of jet production cross sections reconstructed with the two different resolution parameters. This ratio is found to be similar to the measurement in pp collisions at $\sqrt{s} = 7$ TeV and to the expectations from PYTHIA pp simulations and NLO pQCD calculations at $\sqrt{s_{\rm NN}} = 5.02$ TeV.; Comment: 25 pages, 6 captioned figures, 2 tables, authors from page 20...

The search for cosmic antideuterons has been proposed as a promising method to indirectly detect dark matter, due to the very small background flux from spallations expected at the energies relevant to experiments. The antideuteron flux from dark matter annihilations or decays is, however, severely constrained by the non-observation of an excess in the antiproton-to-proton fraction measured by PAMELA. In this paper we calculate, for representative dark matter annihilation and decay channels, upper limits on the number of antideuteron events at AMS-02 and GAPS from requiring that the associated antiproton flux is in agreement with the PAMELA data. To this end, we first analyze in detail the formation of antideuterons in the coalescence model using an event-by-event Monte Carlo simulation and using data from various high energy experiments. We find that the resulting coalescence momentum shows a dependence on the underlying process and on the center of mass energy involved. Then, we calculate, using a diffusion model, the flux of antideuterons at the Earth from dark matter annihilations or decays. Our results indicate that, despite the various sources of uncertainty, the observation of an antideuteron flux at AMS-02 or GAPS from dark matter annihilations or decays will be challenging.; Comment: 19 pages...

The Time-of-Flight (TOF) system of the AMS detector gives the fast trigger to the read out electronics and measures velocity, direction and charge of the crossing particles. The new version of the detector (called AMS-02) will be installed on the International Space Station on March 2004. The fringing field of the AMS-02 superconducting magnet is $1.0\div2.5$ kG where the photomultiplers (PM) are installed. In order to be able to operate with this residual field, a new type of PM was chosen and the mechanical design was constrained by requiring to minimize the angle between the magnetic field vector and the PM axis. We make predictions for momentum-integrated elliptic and triangular flow as well as mean transverse momentum for 5.02 TeV Pb-Pb collisions, as planned at the Large Hadron Collider. We use hydrodynamic calculations to predict the change of these observables as the center-of-mass collision energy evolves from 2.76 TeV to 5.02 TeV per nucleon pair. By using previously measured values as a baseline, we are able to make a robust prediction without relying on a particular model for initial conditions and without precise knowledge of medium properties such as viscosity. Thus, though the predicted changes are small, they can provide a significant test of the current hydrodynamic picture of heavy-ion collisions.; Comment: 6 pages, 3 figures

In a Dark left-right gauge model, the neutral component of right-handed lepton doublet is odd under generalized R-parity and thus the lightest one serves as the dark matter (DM) candidate. The DM in this model dominantly annihilates into leptonic final states and thus satisfy the correct relic abundance. We explain AMS-02 positron excess by the annihilation of 800 GeV dark matter into $\mu^+\mu^-\gamma$, through a t-channel exchange of an additional charged triplet Higgs boson. The DM is leptophilic which is useful for explaining the non-observation of any antiproton excess which would generically be expected from DM annihilation. The large cross-section needed to explain AMS-02 also requires an astrophysical boost. In addition, we show that the muon $g-2$ receives required contribution from singly and doubly charged triplet Higgs in the loops.; Comment: 13 pages, 6 figures

We have obtained the first classification spectrum and present the first direct spectral classification of the ionizing star of an ultracompact HII region. The ultracompact HII region is G29.96-0.02, a well-studied object with roughly twice solar metallicity. The near infrared K-band spectrum of the ionizing star exhibits CIV and NIII emission and HeII absorption, but lines of HI and HeI are obliterated by nebular emission. We determine that the star has a spectral type of O5 to O7 or possibly O8. We critically evaluate limits on the properties of the star and find that it is compatible with zero-age main-sequence properties only if it is binary and if a significant fraction of the bolometric luminosity can escape from the region. G29.96-0.02 will now be an excellent test case for nebular models, as the properties of the ionizing star are independently constrained.; Comment: To appear in ApJ Letters. 7 pages and 4 figures

The transverse momentum ($p_\text{T}$) distribution for inclusive neutral pions in the very forward rapidity region has been measured, with the Large Hadron Collider forward detector (LHCf), in proton--lead collisions at nucleon-nucleon center-of-mass energies of $\sqrt{s_{NN}} = 5.02$TeV at the LHC. The $p_\text{T}$ spectra obtained in the rapidity range $-11.0 < y_\text{lab} < -8.9$ and $0 < p_\text{T} < 0.6$GeV (in the detector reference frame) show a strong suppression of the production of neutral pions after taking into account ultra-peripheral collisions. This leads to a nuclear modification factor value, relative to the interpolated $p_\text{T}$ spectra in proton-proton collisions at $\sqrt{s} = 5.02$TeV, of about 0.1--0.4. The AMS-02 detector will measure cosmic rays on the International Space Station. Transverse momentum spectra of charged particles are measured by the CMS experiment at the CERN LHC in pPb collisions at √sNN = 5.02 TeV, in the range 0.4 < p_T < 120 GeV/c and pseudorapidity │η_(CM)│ < 1.8 in the proton-nucleon center-of-mass frame. For p_T < 10 GeV/c, the charged-particle production is asymmetric about η_(CM) = 0, with smaller yield observed in the direction of the proton beam, qualitatively consistent with expectations from shadowing in nuclear parton distribution functions (nPDF). A pp reference spectrum at √s = 5.02 TeV is obtained by interpolation from previous measurements at higher and lower center-of-mass energies. The p_T distribution measured in pPb collisions shows an enhancement of charged particles with p_T > 20 GeV/c compared to expectations from the pp reference. The enhancement is larger than predicted by perturbative quantum chromodynamic calculations that include antishadowing modifications of nPDFs.

We use the SPIRE Fourier-transform spectrometer (FTS) on-board the ESA Herschel Space Observatory to analyse the submillimetre spectrum of the Ultra-compact HII region G29.96-0.02. Spectral lines from species including (CO)-C-13, CO, [CI], and [NII] are detected. A sparse map of the [NII] emission shows at least one other HII region neighbouring the clump containing the UCHII. The FTS spectra are combined with ISO SWS and LWS spectra and fluxes from the literature to present a detailed spectrum of the source spanning three orders of magnitude in wavelength. The quality of the spectrum longwards of 100 mu m allows us to fit a single temperature greybody with temperature 80.3 +/- 0.6 K and dust emissivity index 1.73 +/- 0.02, an accuracy rarely obtained with previous instruments. We estimate a mass of 1500 M-circle dot for the clump containing the HII region. The clump's bolometeric luminosity of 4 x 10(6) L-circle dot is comparable to, or slightly greater than, the known O-star powering the UCHII region.

We present observations of a series of 10 outbursts of pulsed hard X-ray flux from the transient 10.6 mHz accreting pulsar GS 1843-02, using the Burst and Transient Source Experiment on the Compton Gamma Ray Observatory. These outbursts occurred regularly every 242 days, coincident with the ephemeris of the periodic transient GRO J1849-03, which has recently been identified with the SAS 3 source 2S 1845-024. Our pulsed detection provides the first clear identification of GS 1843-02 with 2S 1845-024. We present a pulse timing analysis that shows that the 2S 1845-024 outbursts occur near the periastron passage of the neutron star's highly eccentric (e=0.88 ± 0.01) 242.18 ± 0.01 day period binary orbit about a high-mass (M_c>7 M_☉) companion. The orbit and transient outburst pattern strongly suggest that the pulsar is in a binary system with a Be star. Our observations show a long-term spin-up trend, with most of the spin-up occurring during the outbursts. From the measured spin-up rates and inferred luminosities we conclude that an accretion disk is present during the outbursts.

La enfermedad celíaca (EC) es autoinmune y se observa en individuos genéticamente predispuestos, se caracteriza por la intolerancia a determinadas proteínas llamadas gluten (gliadinas y gluteínas) que se encuentran en el trigo, el centeno y la cebada. Se sabe que existe una asociación del sistema HLA y la enfermedad celíaca (HLA-DQ2/HLA-DQ8), pero no existen estudios cubanos acerca de esa asociación por lo que nos propusimos analizar el comportamiento de los alelos DQB1*02 y DQB1*03 mediante un estudio analítico observacional en 65 pacientes con diagnóstico presuntivo de enfermedad celíaca con el objetivo de incluir la detección de estos alelos en el esquema diagnóstico de esta compleja enfermedad. Se halló que los individuos portadores del alelo DQB1*02 (OR: 2,26) fueron más susceptibles de padecer la enfermedad que los no portadores, que el 60 % de los presuntos pacientes con enfermedad celíaca presentaron el alelo HLA-DQ2 y el 3 %, el alelo HLA-DQ8. Se concluyó que el genotipaje HLA-DQ2/HLA-DQ8 es de gran utilidad para el diagnóstico de enfermedad celíaca.
