Com a criação dos Institutos Federais de Educação, Ciência e Tecnologia (IF), uma nova institucionalidade para a educação profissional e tecnológica (EPT) está sendo construída. Torna-se imprescindível trazer para o centro do debate a necessidade de novas políticas públicas de formação para o docente de EPT. As faculdades de educação e o curso de Pedagogia não podem ficar ausentes desse processo. Iniciando o diálogo que propomos, discutimos o tema em questão e analisamos dados de levantamento realizado em conjunto com os alunos do Mestrado em Educação, da Universidade de Brasília, sobre o perfil de formação dos professores da rede federal de EPT.

Brazil is considered one of the major consumer??s country of fruits, occupying the third worldwide position. The diversity of fruit for the market is growing, but their properties and activities are not fully determined. However, from the beginning of the 90s, a large fruit supply is justifying studies related to the development of new products, which in most cases concentrates the major consumption form as raw fruit or pulp. This work aimed to produce pulp from blackberry cv. Tupy, and store it under different temperature conditions (-10, -18 and -80 ??C) for 6 months, evaluating the stability of its main phytochemicals after processing and during the storage period. The results showed that the temperature of -10 ??C was not sufficient to cause significant changes in relation to total phenols, total anthocyanins, antioxidant capacity and titrable acidity (2 months). The temperature of -18 ?? C was not sufficient to cause significant changes in the pulp with respect to: total phenols and antioxidant capacity (4 months), total anthocyanins (2 months) and β-carotene (6 months). At temperature of -80 ?? C, few changes were caused in the pulp stored for 6 months, and observed only small changes in soluble solids, hydroxybenzoic acid. The tropane alkaloids (TA) pathway has a branch-point controlled by the enzymes tropinone reductase 1 and 2 (TR1 and TR2). Tropinone is the common substrate for these enzymes and is reduced either by TR1 to form tropine, hyoscyamine and scopolamine or by TR2 to form pseudotropine and calystegines. Hyoscyamine and scopolamine are largely used in medicine as anticholinergic, antiemetic, parasympatholytic and anaesthetic. Calystegines mimic different sugars and are potent and specific inhibitors of glucosidases. The function of hyoscyamine, scopolamine and calystegines in the plants is not fully understood. Recent studies suggest that they are involved in the plant defense against pathogens. Regulation of TA biosynthesis in planta has attracted interest not only in view of its applications in the pharmaceutical industry, but also in respect to human nutrition and plant physiology. In the present study a virus-based transgenic approach devised to induce PTGS of tr1 and tr2 in whole transformed Hyoscyamus muticus plants is evaluated. The application of good quality seeds is fundamental to farming success. Estimation of seed utilization in Rondon??polis, the state of Mato Grosso, Brazil, provided by ABRASEM in the last 10 years, shows seed utilization rate ranging 85 to 95%, with setting around 90% in the last 3 crop seasons. Farmers make high utilization of modern technology, thus demanding high yield seeds. The objective of this study is to estimate the utilization rate of soybean seeds, and to verify utilization conditions of available technologies for improving seeds yield. To estimate these values a drill box survey method was used. A total of 100 samples were collected over soybean producing regions of Rondon??polis, in the state of Mato Grosso, Brazil, during the 2010/2011 crop planting season. Farming fields were visited at random at planting time, where planter operators were approached and a sample of 1 kg was taken from the drill box. In addition to collecting seed sample, which was also used to assess mechanical damage, other information was obtained, in particular the source of the seed used. The occurrence of invasive plants can alter crop yields, because these plants often grow so strong, competing for light, water and nutrients, affecting seed production. The taxonomic identification of these species is the first step in planning a control program. The objectives of this work are: develop and validate a computer system to support the identification of units spread of invasive species; differentiate seeds of three species of quarantine pests Amaranthus genus of three species of the same genus harmful tolerated by analyzing the morphology inside and outside of their seeds. This work is organized into two chapters: Chapter 1 - describes the process of building a computer system to support the identification of units spread of invasive species. The database of the computer system was composed of morphological descriptions, drawings and photographs of the morphological structures of 198 seeds of invasive species. We developed a tool (available on the Web) to use the database built, providing morphological search by entering information on the morphology of seed and/or dispersion unit that seeks to identify the user. The aim of this study was to identify the ideal sweet corn seed harvest moment by different determinations like moisture gradient in each harvest, moisture content, seeds dry matter, Hot Unity and physiological quality. Four genotypes of sweet corn, carrier of gene shrunken 2 (sh2) and nominated super sweet was used in this study. Ears from plants in the same development stage were collected. Seed harvest for the first genotype began 39 days after the flowering at intervals of two days until to complete eight harvest periods. Morphological determinations evaluated were moisture gradient between the seeds in each harvest, moisture content, seeds dry matter and Hot Unity. Seeds physiological quality was evaluated by germination test, first count of germination, soil emergence and cold test, without soil. Based on the results, the conclusions are: 1) the ideal moment to harvest sweet corn was with seed moisture content between 40 and 60% depending on genotype; 2) the ideal period to harvest the seed of sweet corn varies among genotypes; 3) the Hot Unity between 2007 to 2160??C relates to the best times to harvest the genotypes of sweet corn; 4) the moisture gradient of the seeds in a ear of sweet corn can reach more than 40 percentage points; 5) the seed moisture loss on the ear reaches around 1.5 percentage points per day after 40 days of flowering.; O objetivo deste trabalho foi identificar o momento ideal de colheita de sementes de milho doce...

The aim of the first study was to analyze the chain of wheat seed production in Rio Grande do Sul from the forces acting on it. For the analysis, it was used the methodology of the five competitive forces: competition within the industry, new entrants, substitute products, bargaining power of suppliers, and bargaining power of buyers. Initially, a survey of secondary data from various sources was done, among which the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Food Supply (MAPA), the Association of Seed Producers of Rio Grande do Sul (Apassul), the National Supply Company (CONAB) and the Brazilian Association of Wheat Industry (ABITRIGO). The study showed that there is great imbalance within the forces that act on the chain of wheat seed production in Rio Grande do Sul, with the bargaining power of buyers making strong pressure on all parts of the chain, even where there is no direct commercial relationships. The second study aimed at, from the implementation of the Plant Cultivars Protection Law (LPC), and the Seeds and Seedlings Law (LS), quantifying the wheat seed companies of Rio Grande do Sul based on their scale of production, relations with class entities, plant breeding companies, and innovation, and to compare current data with the data obtained before the consolidation of the LPC and before the LS became effective. Annual ryegrass production of (Lolium multiflorum Lam) in Rio Grande do Sul is usually obtained from pasture areas and subsequently deferred pasture. Understanding the physiological ecology of annual ryegrass plant is essential for proper management program, with objective of getting higher forage production and seed. Therefore, the effects of different frequencies of defoliation were measured at (zero, one, two and three) on morphogenesis characteristics of annual ryegrass plants, cultivar BRS Ponteio‟. The following characteristics were evaluated (rate of leaf appearance, phyllochron, leaf expansion rate, rate of leaf senescence, rate of stem expansion, tillering rate and leaf lifespan), forage and seed, and the seed yield components (number of tillers per plant, number of fertile tillers per plant, length of tillers, length of spike, number of spikelets per spike, number of seeds per spikelet and total seed production). The plant behavior was assessed for seven months from (04/29/11 to 11/18/11). Defoliation affected the morphogenesis characteristics, amount of forage and seed harvested of ryegrass cultivar BRS Ponteio‟. The practices and techniques used in irrigated rice to obtain better performances include the optimal density and the best arrangement of plants in the area. This study aims to evaluate the behavior and plasticity in the yield and grain quality of three rice hybrids with different sowing arrangements in the density and row spacing. The experimental field was conducted in rice season 2010/2011 in Cap??o do Le??o, Viam??o and Uruguaiana at Rio Grande do Sul state. Three different sowing arrangements, involving row spacing with 17 cm, 34 cm and 17cm intercalated with 34 cm which corresponded respectively to densities of 40 kg.ha-1, 20 kg.ha-1 and 32 kg.ha-1. The experimental design used was randomized blocks with sub divided plots with three replications considering each location as a replication. Were evaluated the yield and grain quality. The results show that the grain yield and grain quality components of hybrid rice were not affected by sowing arrangement. The hybrids behavior demonstrates the plasticity to compensate lower densities and different distance between planting rows. This allow recommendations of seeding rates and row spacing for these hybrids reducing the amount of seed to be sown per area compared with what is currently recommended. The pest-insects of storage are limiters the conservation of wheat seeds, because damage the product or invalidate their use, causing qualitative and quantitative losses. The seeds require the use of preventive measures if they are not infested and curatives when infested by pest-insects to ensure the preservation of physiological and sanitary quality during storage. In order to determine the effect of insecticide treatment on the physiological quality of wheat seeds during storage, were segregated four lots, BRS 210. Treatments consisted: a) control without insecticide application b) expurgation with phosphine at a dose of 2.0 g i.a/m3; c) liquid chemical treatment, using Pirimiphos-methyl to 6 g i.a/t (12 mL Actellic of 500 EC/t) Bifenthrin 0.4 g i.a/t (16 ml ProStore 25 EC / t); d) inert powder using diatomaceous earth to 860 gy/t (Keepdry to 1000 g/t). Expurgation was monitored by concentration of phosphine using the concentration meter Silo Chek. Fortnightly, was monitored the presence of pests-insects in stored seeds. Monthly, were conducted in laboratory germination test, emergence in sand at greenhouse and laboratory accelerated aging. The treatments with insecticides were effective in the prevention and control of pest-insects in seeds. The monitoring of phosphine gas during expurgation demonstrated the maintenance of minimum concentration required to supress life stages of the pest-insects. Wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) is the third most produced worldwide cereal. In Brazil more than half of the consumed wheat is imported. The species has hexaploid genome, which gives good adaptation to different environmental conditions and tolerance to abiotic stresses. Among the main factors that cause stress can be highlighted the problem of drought and soil salinity. Water deficit is the low availability of water to plants, affecting their growth and development caused death when drastic. The salinity is the high salt concentrations in the soil. Therefore, the objective of this study was to evaluate the performance of 14 wheat genotypes when subjected to salt stress and water deficit during the germination phase. To simulate the salt stress were used three solutions with different NaCl concentrations (44.83, 89.66 and 134.49mM NaCl) and a control treatment, pure water. To water deficit were used three solutions with different concentrations of polyethylene glycol 6000 plus pure water control treatment, providing four different osmotic potentials (0.0, -0.2, -0.4 and -0.6MPa). Germination, first count of germination, speed of germination index, shoot dry matter, root dry matter, shoot length and root length were reduced due to the increase of NaCl concentration and osmotic potential more negative. The Marfim genotype was shown to be more tolerant to salt stress and also the stress by water deficit. The CSR test is a potential indicator for identification of genotypes tolerant to salt stress and water deficit. This study aimed to evaluate the physiological quality of soybean seeds damaged at different levels as well as the effect of seed treatment with fungicide after 150 days of storage. Used - if seeds of the cultivar Turbo. These seeds were harvested and threshed manually to ensure that there were no initial mechanical damage. Damage to seeds used a mechanical damaging, "Impact Test". Seeds were individually exposed on a counter seed round hole for receiving the impact through a 100 g weight at different heights (A1 = A2 = 10 cm and 20 cm), adding three levels of damage without damage, moderately damaged and highly damaged. Done that seeds were packaged in paper bags Derosal Plus fungicide treated and stored in BOD with temperature 22 ?? C ?? 3 ?? The investment in reforestation with Eucalyptus as a way to ensure the cheap and quality supply of plant biomass to be used as an energy source in grain dryers, is constantly put into evidence in cereal companies and agricultural cooperatives. Like any other economic activity, needs to be assessed from the point of view of their financial return on invested capital, so that it can contribute to support the decisions. Thus, this study aims to analyze the economic feasibility for implementation of reforestation with eucalyptus to supply the needs of firewood in Seara Industria e Comercio de Produtos Agropecuarios Ltda in its three receiving, processing and storage plants installed in northern Parana. The calculation methodology took into consideration the needs of firewood annual production costs during the production cycle of 21 years , with cuts every 7 years, and considering that the price of wood is the one practiced by the regional market. To analyze the feasibility, we considered the assessment criteria for Net Present Value (NPV) and Internal Rate of Return (IRR) in two scenarios: a) considering the purchase area, b) considering the lease area. The objective of this study was to evaluate the influence of low and high vigor of soybean seeds on agronomic characteristics , yield components and seed yield, in individually plants and on the communities of plants generated by different proportions of plants originated from high and low vigor seeds on the crop row. The main reserve components in seeds are carbohydrates, lipids and proteins. Aside from their nutritious role, proteins have several important functions in seeds, being essential to the molecular biology of the plant. The detailed knowledge of proteins makes it possible to outline strategies of genetic improvement aimed at increasing production and tolerance to different pathologies, among other traits. Progress in the molecular biology, genomics and proteomics impelled the creation of a great volume of data on proteins of several vegetable species, with information about their functionality in the several tissues and organs they are part of. To use this information, it is necessary to rely on computational tools. This need impelled the appearance and development of bioinformatics, e.g. the use of computational tools for the study of biological data. The objective of this work was to quantify the proteins related to the seeds described already and available in the Swiss- Prot database, and to verify the similarity and hydrophobic pattern of the proteins with same function in different species. A detailed consultation was performed in the Swiss-Prot database, in search of proteins found in seeds, seedlings and their component tissues. Some works have reported the existence of contrasting soybean genotypes for physiological quality of seeds. There are such differences because of the presence of seeds with total or partial impermeability for water absorption into the coat that make them less susceptible to mechanical damages, weather adversities, deterioration by humidity and pathogen occurrence. The characteristic of semi-permeable coat can be used in programs of soybean crop breeding to be incorporated in genotypes of high production, aiming at the physiologic quality of the seed. The objectives of this study were: Identify structural differences among the coat of the genotypes CD-202 (permeable) and TP (semi-permeable); obtain fragments of genes distinguishingly expressed among the coat of those genotypes; characterize the physiological quality of soybean seeds produced. Morphologic characterization of the coats was carried out by optic microscope BX 51 with increase of 40x. In order to obtain the fragments of genes distinguishingly expressed among the coats of the two genotypes, the technique cDNA AFLP was used. The physiological quality of the seeds was obtained by germination tests and vigour (accelerated ageing and electrical conductivity). Boron is an essential plant nutrient. Its functions are related to cellular growth and flower development. At flowering, the micronutrient deficiency reduces male-fertility due to damage to microsporogenesis and to the pollen tube growth. This work aims to define the phases of higher sensibility of the culture, with the purpose of identifying appropriate times for applying of boron to the rice crop. Boron application, in form of sodium borate (Na2B4O7.10H2O), in dosage of 10 kg.ha, was made in five different phases: base fertilization; tillering; primary flower differentiation; booting stage; and full flowering. Evaluation on yield, sterility and rice yield components, as well as physiological quality of the seeds produced have been done. The results allowed the verification that the amount of sodium borate applied is not harmful to the flooded rice crop, and there are no effects of application of the nutrient in different times of cultivation.; O boro ?? um nutriente essencial para as plantas. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of seed vigor on hybrid rice plant performance, grown in communities consisting of different combinations of plants originated from different vigor levels seeds along the line of seeding, individually or in arrangements of plants. Two experiments were conducted at the Experimental and Didactic Plant Science Department, Faculty of Agronomy "Eliseu Maciel . Two batches of hybrid rice seed from the RiceTec Company, Avaxi CL ??, characterized as high and low vigor were used for this aim. The first experiment evaluated the effect of seed vigor on the behavior of individually analyzed plants grown at different population densities. It was tested three different arrangements of plants: exclusive plants from high vigor seeds, exclusive plants from low vigor seeds, and half plants from high vigor seeds interspersed with half of plants from low vigor seeds. The arrangements were distributed in two densities: 125 plants per square meter and 63 plants per square meter. This study aimed to determine the mechanical damage in soybean seeds and the efficiency of seed grading from samples collected at sowing time in the Paran?? state. For this study, it was used the method of sampling in drill box survey. The number of samples was determined for the Paran?? state, for a percentage of damage in soybean seeds of 20%, that 243 samples would be sufficient to estimate with 95% of probability this parameter of seed quality. The seeds evaluations were the mechanical damage and retention of small seeds with the large ones in the classification process. The mechanical seed damage was evaluated by the method of immersion in 5% sodium hypochlorite. According to this method, it was used 100 seeds which were soaked in the solution for 10 minutes. For the analysis of the retention of small seeds in the classification process, it was used 314 samples. For this process, two replicates of 100 seeds per sample were used. Based on the results, it was obtained the following conclusions: 1 - In the process of seed classification, over than 25% of the lots had more than 10% of small seeds that remain along with the large ones; 2 - Over than 50% of the seed lots, present more than 12% of mechanical damage; 3 - There are cultivars that are less affected by mechanical damage...

The objective this research is to determine the relation between the levels of genetic contamination (Female), density of sowing and hybrid types of irrigated rice to productivity. The experiment was carried out at an experiment camp of the Rice Tec Company, in the city of Glorinha (RS/BRAZIL), in the agricultural year of 2009/2010. The variables were four genetic contaminations (0%, 10%, 20% and 30%) three seed rate (35, 45 and 55 kilograms/hectare) and two hybrids (Avaxi CL and Inov), while the variable of result was yield. For the Avaxi CL there was no difference concerning productivity when the genetic contamination was increased.
