B. ovis pathogenicity was evaluated in experimentally inoculated and naturally infected rams. Ten animals were submitted to simultaneous conjunctival and intrapreputial inoculation with 2x109 CFU/ mL of B. ovis REO 198. After that, animals underwent physical examination and blood samples were collected for serology every week. Positive serology results started to be observed in the 3rd week, with fluctuations in titers. Clinical changes began in the 5th week after inoculation and were associated with positive serology in the acute phase of the disease. Presence of B. ovis in semen and urine culture was intermittent. Three non-inoculated animals showed natural infection. B. ovis was shed twice in semen of one serology-negative animal. The study underscored the pathogenic characteristics of B. ovis REO 198 in Santa Inês rams, as well as the importance of animals as potential sources of infection.

In this paper, we present a compositional semantics for the channel-based coordination language Reo that enables the analysis of quality of service (QoS) properties of service compositions. For this purpose, we annotate Reo channels with stochastic delay rates and explicitly model data-arrival rates at the boundary of a connector, to capture its interaction with the services that comprise its environment. We propose Stochastic Reo Automata as an extension of Reo automata, in order to compositionally derive a QoS-aware semantics for Reo. We further present a translation of Stochastic Reo Automata to Continuous-Time Markov Chains (CTMCs). This translation enables us to use third-party CTMC verification tools to do an end-to-end performance analysis of service compositions. In addition, we discuss to what extent Interactive Markov Chains (IMCs) can serve as an alternative semantic model for Stochastic Reo. We show that the semantics of Stochastic Reo cannot be specified compositionally using the product operator provided by IMCs.

Quality of Service analysis of composed software systems is an active research area, with the goal of evaluating and improving performance and resource allocation in serviceoriented applications, namely, in the glue code –coordination layer– of such systems. Stochastic Reo offers constructs for service coordination and allows the specification of stochastic values for channels. But its state-of-the-art semantic models fail in several (important) ways. In this paper, we will see how Interactive Markov chains (IMC), proposed as astochastic compositional model of concurrency, can be effectively used to serve as a compositional semantic model for Stochastic Reo. Treating IMC as a direct semantic model, gives rise to more faithful models and has obvious efficiency advantages. Moreover, tool support that exists for IMC is made available, without significant effort, to verify and reason about the coordination layer modelled as Reo connectors.

Mercaptoacetyltriglycine forms complexes with 186/188Re and 99mTc radionuclides that are useful in nuclear medicine because they are substrates of the renal anion transport system. However, the renal clearance of [MO(MAG3)]2-(MAG3 = penta-anionic form of mercaptoacetyltriglycine, M = Re, Tc) complexes are less than ideal. Organic sulphonates are also transported by the renal anion transport system and phosphonates are similar to sulphonates in size and shape. In an effort to develop new ligands that form Re and Tc complexes and have improved renal clearances compared to [MO(MAG3)]2- complexes, the sulphonate and phosphonate derivatives of mercaptoacetyltriglycine were synthesized. The dianion [ReO(MAG2-AMS)]2- (MAG2-AMS = penta-anionic form of mercaptoacetylglycylglycylaminomethanesulphonic acid) was prepared for characterization by exchange reaction of ReOCl3(Me2S)(OPPh3) and isolated as the disodium salt. The structure of Na2[ReO(MAG2-AMS)]·3H2O (6) was determined by X-ray diffraction. The coordination geometry is pseudo square pyramidal, with the nitrogen and sulfur donor atoms forming a square base and the oxo ligand at the apex. The deprotonated sulphonate group has a syn conformation with respect to the oxo ligand. The renal clearances of [99mTcO(MAG2-AMS)]2- and [99mTcO(MAG2-AMP)]3- were similar in rats and suggest that the difference in total charge between the SO3- and PO32- groups is not important to renal clearance. However...

The reaction of [ReOCl3(PPh3)2] with salicylaldehyde-2-mercaptoanil (1) in methanol yields [ReO(OCH3)(PPh3)(η3-OC6H4CH=NC6H4S)] (3). Reaction of 3 with 2-(2-hydroxyphenyl)benzothiazole (2) produces [ReO(η3-OC6H4CH=NC6H4S)( η2-OC6H4)] (4) in good yield. Compound 4 may also be prepared directly from the reaction of [ReOCl3(PPh3)2] with excess 1, after prolonged reaction times in the presence of atmospheric oxygen. The structure of 3 exhibits a distorted octahedral Re(V) center coordinated to a terminal oxo-group, a methoxy ligand, a triphenylphosphine ligand, and the N, O and S donors of the tridentate Schiff base ligand. The octahedral geometry of 4 is defined by the terminal oxo-group, the N, O and S donors of the tridentate Schiff base ligand, and the N and O donors of the bidentate 2-(2-hydroxophenyl)benzothiazole ligand. Oxidation and cyclization of the Schiff base salicylaldehyde-2-mercaptoanil to produce 2-(2-hydroxyphenyl)benzothiazole is precedented and in this instance may be driven by the formation of the robust ‘3+2’ complex 4.

The reaction of [ReOCl3(PPh3)2] with N,N-bis(2-mercaptoethyl)benzylamine and 4-bromobenzenethiol allowed for the isolation of [ReO{η3-(SCH2CH2)2N(CH2C6H5)}-(η1-C6H4Br-4-S)] (1). The reaction of [ReOCl3(PPh3)2] with [(HSCH2CH2)2N(CH2C5H4N)] and the appropriate thiol in chloroform treated with triethylamine has led to the isolation of a series of neutral rhenium complexes of the type [ReO{η3-(SCH2CH2)2N(CH2C5H4N)}(η1-C6H4X-4-S)] (X = Br (2), Cl (3), F (4), and OCH3 (5)) and [ReO{η3-(SCH2CH2)2N(CH2C5H4N)}(η1-C6H4OCH3-4-CH2S)] (6). Likewise, under similar reaction conditions, the use of the related tridentate ligand, [(HSCH2CH2)2N(CH2CH2C5H4N)], has led to the isolation of a series of rhenium complexes of the type [ReO{η3-(SCH2CH2)2N(CH2CH2C5H4N)}(η1-C6H4X-4-S)] (X=Br (7), Cl (8), OCH3 (9)), as well as [ReO{η3-(SCH2CH2)2N(CH2CH2C5H4N)}(η1-C6H4Cl-4-CH2S)]·0.5CH3(CH2)4CH3 (10). These compounds are extensions of the ‘3+1’ approach to the synthesis of materials with the {MO}3+ core (M=Tc and Re), which have applications in nuclear medicine. The ligands chosen allow systematic exploration of the consequences of para-substitution on the monodentate thiolate ligand [S] and of derivatization of the substituent R on the tridentate aminodithiol ligand [SNS] of the type (HSCH2CH2)2NR. Such modifications can influence lipophilicity...

The reaction of [ReOCl3(PPh3)2] with N-(2-hydroxybenzyl)-2-mercaptoaniline (H3hbma) (2) and 2-mercaptopyridine in hot CHCl yields [ReO(η2-HOC6H4-2-CH2NC6H4S)(η2-SC5H4N)(PPh3)] (3). The structure of 3 consists of distorted octahedral Re(V) monomers. The coordination geometry at the rhenium is defined by a terminal oxo-group, the nitrogen and sulfur donors of the chelating mercaptopyridine, the nitrogen and sulfur donors of a bidentate (Hhbma)2− ligand, and the phosphorus of the PPh3 group. The −C6H4OH arm of (Hhbma)2− is pendant, and the coordinated nitrogen of this ligand is present as a deprotonated amido nitrogen.

Background and Purpose. Training in the virtual environment in post stroke rehab is being established as a new approach for neurorehabilitation, specifically, ReoTherapy (REO) a robot-assisted virtual training device. Trunk stabilization strapping has been part of the concept with this device, and literature is lacking to support this for long-term functional changes with individuals after stroke. The purpose of this case series was to measure the feasibility of auditory trunk sensor feedback during REO therapy, in moderate to severely impaired individuals after stroke. Case Description. Using an open label crossover comparison design, 3 chronic stroke subjects were trained for 12 sessions over six weeks on either the REO or the control condition of task related training (TRT); after a washout period of 4 weeks; the alternative therapy was given. Outcomes. With both interventions, clinically relevant improvements were found for measures of body function and structure, as well as for activity, for two participants. Providing auditory feedback during REO training for trunk control was found to be feasible. Discussion. The degree of changes evident varied per protocol and may be due to the appropriateness of the technique chosen, as well as based on patients impaired arm motor control.

QoS analysis of coordinated distributed autonomous services is currently of interest in the area of service-oriented computing and calls for new technologies and supporting tools. In previous work, the first three authors have proposed a compositional automata model to provide semantics for stochastic Reo, a channel based coordination language that supports the specification of QoS values (such as request arrivals or processing rates). Furthermore, translations from this automata model into stochastic models, such as continuous-time Markov chains (CTMCs) and interactive Markov chains (IMCs) have also been presented. Based on those results, we describe in this paper a case study of QoS analysis. We analyze a certain instance of the ASK system, an industrial software system for connecting people offering professional services to clients requiring those services. We develop a model of the ASK system using stochastic Reo. The distributions used in this model were obtained by applying statistical analysis techniques on the raw values that we obtained from the real logs of an actual running ASK system. These distributions are used for the derived CTMC model for the ASK system to analyze and to improve the performance of the system, under the assumption that the distributions are exponentially distributed. In practice...

Reo, an exogenous channel-based coordination language, is a model for service coordination wherein services communicate through connectors formed by joining binary communication channels. In order to establish transactional communication among services as prescribed by connector semantics, distributed ports exchange handshaking messages signalling which parties are ready to provide or consume data. In this paper, we present a formal implementation model for distributed Reo with communication delays and outline ideas for its proof of correctness. To reason about Reo implementation formally, we introduce Timed Action Constraint Automata (TACA) and explain how to compare TACA with existing automata-based semantics for Reo. We use TACA to describe handshaking behavior of Reo modeling primitives and argue that in any distributed circuit remote Reo nodes and channels exposing such behavior commit to perform transitions envisaged by the network semantics.; Comment: In Proceedings FOCLASA 2014, arXiv:1502.03157

A hypothesis that the local rotations of ReO$_6$ octahedra persist in the crystallographically untilted ambient phase of ReO$_3$ is examined by the high-resolution neutron time-of-flight total scattering based atomic pair distribution function analysis. Three candidate models were tested, Pm$\bar{3}$m, P4/mbm, and Im$\bar{3}$, for the local structure of ReO$_3$ at ambient pressure and 12 K, and both quantitative and qualitative assessment of the data were performed. No evidence for large local octahedral rotations was found, suggesting that the local and the average structure are the same (Pm$\bar{3}$m) as normally assumed.; Comment: Submitted

Over the past decades, coordination languages have emerged for the specification and implementation of interaction protocols for communicating software components. This class of languages includes Reo, a platform for compositional construction of connectors. In recent years, various formalisms for describing the behavior of Reo connectors have come to existence, each of them serving its own purpose. Naturally, questions about how these models relate to each other arise. From a theoretical point of view, answers to these questions provide us with better insight into the fundamentals of Reo, while from a more practical perspective, these answers broaden the applicability of Reo's development tools. In this paper, we address one of these questions: we investigate the equivalence between coloring models and constraint automata, the two most dominant and practically relevant semantic models of Reo. More specifically, we define operators that transform one model to the other (and vice versa), prove their correctness, and show that they distribute over composition. To ensure that the transformation operators map one-to-one (instead of many-to-one), we extend coloring models with data constraints. Though primarily a theoretical contribution...

Apenas a variável perfil fez parte do delineamento e participaram do estudo 54 estudantes.
